Marshals
The parade marshals are the group of individuals who organize the parade units into their predetermined order, start the parade at the designated time, conduct it along its route, and then break it down, directing all of the units to their staged vehicles at the end of the route.
Duties involve assisting individuals in locating their marching units before the parade, directing units to their staging location and preparing them for the start of the parade.
Other duties include the safe and orderly passage of units along the route, dispensing information about the parade to participants and spectators and assisting Gardai and other emergency service responders as needed. You are given a “marshal” sash to wear that show your official capacity.
The marshals work together as a group.
It is another opportunity to meet new people and make new friends!
